Class and charisma: two of India's greatest artists together

Class and charisma: two of India's greatest artists together after nearly two decades

It took nearly two decades for two of India's most accomplished and dignified artists to be paired on screen. And when they finally were, the screen exploded with energy, talent and class. Dil Diya Dard Liya saw both give off performances that matched the classic on which the film was based -- Wuthering Heights but the film bombed at the box office.

More than a decade later, Aadmi and Ram Aur Shyam -- two vastly contrasting films --saw not only Dilip and Waheeda revealing what passions their unique chemistry could evoke but also a till then routine floater Mumtaj rise to her true potential. From Dara to Dilip, Mumtaj made the transition from the mundane by-lanes of mediocrity to unsuspected charm and class. See link
