A prayer that seeks an answer is a demand, not a prayer. A prayer is a song of love and gratitude. Every love song is essentially a prayer. To seek and to pray are different things but most of our prayers end up as wish lists. The term "Wahe-guru" is an expression more of wonderment at the beauty of the universe than a mere term of praise born out of fear. Religion is nothing if it is not born of infinite love for everything you see. Love is the only relgion I know. The rest is just fear turned into faith.
Every act performed with love and honesty in your heart is an act of prayer. A prayer is karama raised to the level of dharma. If you come out of a prayer the same person that you were before you went into it, you have prayed in vain. If you come out of a shrine with the same baggage that you carried ino it, then you can be sure the shrine has done nothing for you.Every shrine is a mere symbol of the far more sacred shrine within your heart. If that shrine has remained un-visited for ages, then the symbol too would fail to remind you of that.

PRAYERS AS SONGS OF LOVE
PRAYER IS A PROCLAMATION OF LOVE; BEGGING AN INVOCATION TO PITY
A prayer is nothing but our way assuring ourselves that we are not completely alone and helpless on this planet. The whole universe rises to back us if our cause is noble, which is another name for respecting the laws of the universe. Anything that runs against these laws is irreligious and therefore painful.
The term God is only an abbreviation for the general order of design of the universe and the energy that moves through it. There is nothing supernatural about it, and those who we think have found God have said that much. Budhha said it through his loud silence on the question of God. Jesus described the acknowledgement of the overwhelming Law of the order of universe as Acceptance. Nanak called it “being happy living in accordance with Hukam or Bhaana, or the Will of God, or the Will of Nature. Islam is full of references to "razaa', or Will of the Unknown. Surrender to this Law is the essence of the Gita.
Pain is the direct consequence of trying to run against the current of the Law of the Universe, or the Will of God. Desire for Immortality of form is an act of defiance of the law of change, and hence any pursuit of this desire is an invitation to pain.
A prayer is a return to sanity, the acknowledgement of the need to flow in the direction of the current of Law. Defiance of Law is an attempt to distort the picture of the universe or a small part of it, and a prayer is an attempt to rectify that distortion. Humility is nothing more than an acceptance of the reality that we are mere cogs, however important, in a large wheel to further the march of Evolution.
A prayer is an expression of this humility. A prayer is addressed always and only to oneself. That is why we generally pray alone, or close our eyes while praying in a congregation. It is a pilgrimage into the boundless yet unknown reservoirs of life force that resides within us and which alone has the power to lift us beyond the bounds of the possible. It is nature's way of reconciling the paradox that while the Whole contains its parts, each part also contains the Whole, as both religion and science have shown us. Every atom in the universe is full of mysteries which are as innumerable, incomperensible and fascinating as the mysteries of the universe at large.
A prayer is also an attempt of an atom to display its ability to reflect the whole universe, holding "infinity in the palm of his hand and eternity in an hour." Its also a proof that the vast universe and its tiniest part converse in a common language. The atom and the universe, the part and the whole, the Atma and the Parmatma are inseparable and indistinguishable, and a prayer is the common language in which they converse. Begging is not praying because begging is devoid of love, while prayer is born of infinite love. Begging is a proclamation of insecurity; a prayer is a song of faith, trust and assurance. Prayer invokes love; begging invokes pity.
The worst form of begging is the one addressed to the Almighty Universe or God. It is like asking a mighty emperor to feed the dog at your farm house, a dog whose responsibility is only yours to share. Neither the dog nor the emperor will be too pleased with your act.
Turn your prayers into songs of love, and they shall be answered -- with love.

MANUFACTURE YOUR LUCK AND "HER HAAL RAHO MASTAANE"
MY MOTEHR'S TEACHINGS ARE MY ONLY ARDAS, HER MEMORY MY ONLY MEDITATION
In response to Pb To's observation that only those with "opportunities" and luck succeed in life.
Fortunately, I have a passion for life and for things like poetry, mysticism etc. Regarding the role that oportunites played in the lives of successful people like Dr. Manmohan SIngh,Mother Teresa , Abraham Lincoln etc. , think that those great men and women created the opportunities that they got. Anyway, the whole point is that it makes better sense to blame oneself for one's lack of great success than to blame anything or anyone else. "Aape beej, aape he khaa..." And i believe that many of the great people we know have actually manufactured their own luck. SurelyI was not born in a log-hut like Lincoln was and i did not have to swim across a river everyday to reach my school, like Lal Bahadur Shastri had to .Although yes, I used to cycle 90 kilometeres (YES NINETY KILOMETERS -- 45 kilometers each way ) every day to teach in a college where I was employed as a lecturer and would not get my salary for months and months together . This went on for nearly two years... and i still feel good about that.I have actually worked as manual labourer ( Yes, as a farm labour, despite having been born in a family of landlords) for one full season of wheat harvest. That was a tough year for our family, and I did not want my mother to feel that her son was an idler. Many may not believe that. But i feel very nice about that also. My mother taught me that work, any work, is always a matter of pride;dishonesty and unwillingness to work are the only sins and cause for shame.(Sharam kaadhi kamm dee, Sharam jhooth te vehle chum dee) I can look back with pride on this life. You may never have seen me complaining about any lack of opportunities even when I was suffering in front of your own eyes, and used to travel five to six hudnred kilometers everyday, using a gas cylinder to save money on petrol in a car that threatened to break down every twenty kilometers. Of course you will remember that. And this was afterIhad been an advisor to the ChiefMinister not once but twice.I will not be surprised if I have to face a difficult period againwhen no longer in this job, althoug a combination of circumstances relating to my ancestral property may have improved things for me now. I can say with confidence that you may never have seen me crying or complaining about"oportunities or anything like that even during those difficult days. or have you? I remember my mother's often repeated lines : " Gurmukh Har hall rahe mastaana./" Of course I am no gurmukh but my mother was one and i worshipped her and worship her memory now. Her memory is my only ardas. And this always gives me strength. I believe in some kind of a concept in which God is not a person standing out there, dishing out favours to those who praise him or is furious with those who don't. My faith in God is in the form of Love, in the form of Energy, the force that runs through us and through everything we see .Therefore, please let us stop washing our ahnds of responsibility by blaming the polticians. They are what they are; that is not the issue. The issue is : are we doing enough to change what we don't like. If the answer is an honest no, then the least we can do is to stop all this breast beating about injsutice, unfairness, or corruption or stuff like that. I hope you don't me wrong. I can give you my word that my honesty will remain un-negotiable . Unfortunaely, I have not been able to live up to my motehr's ideals one hundrd percent. But in most things, I have tried and succeeded to be true to her. Honesty is one of those things.

A good advisor must eliminate the need for his advice
A successful leader can be judged by the number of advisors he can do without and a successful advisor by the degree to which he renders himself redundant . The latter's advice must always be so good that the leader has no further use for him. The number of unemployed persons a leader keeps as his advisors is generally a sign only of his magnanimity towards those loya to him.But the trouble with leaders is that they allow their aides to strut as advisors; the trouble with advisors is that they mistake this magnanimity as proof of their own indispensability. A good advisor must eliminate the need for his advice, and a good leader must make all his mistakes appear to the result of wrong advice. An adviosr must understand his role as an intellectual bullet proof jacket for his leader.
PASSION AND WISDOM
Nothing great is ever achieved in life without passion. I know it from the number of things I have not achieved. A certain kind and degree of madness is essential to any breakthrough to take human thought and experience to a higher orbit. Wisdom is at best a clean preservative. All progress in evolution of life has bee...n made possible by what are called "rebel genes" who refuse to live by the rules
A rebuttal is a lie told about a lie.
MEDIA MUSINGS
TRUTH IS THAT WHICH RUNS FOR COVER WHENEVER HE SEES A JOURNALIST
" Comedy is when even your appearance on the facebook becomes a source of liveliehood for journalists. Tragedy is when you begin to take that as proof of your fame. Farce is when you and the journalist who writes about you engage in media debate which no one reads. Shame is when your rebuttal of a new item about your death is put in the obituary column. Shocker is when the editor of the newspaper which Reported your death gives a "Correspondence on the subject is closed" note at the bottom of his reporter's version proclaiming , "Despite Mr. --'s denial of the news of his death, we stand by our version of the event. As for ---'s contention that he is still alive, yeh jeena bhi koi jeena hai, lallu ?" Melodrama is when you act outraged by anything written about you by journalists. Bathos is when journalsits see conspiracies behind your being upset over their unread reports. Pathos is when they don't see any. Catastrophe is when no one cares to react to media criticism. Foolishness is when you start expecting newspapers to tell you the truth. Mistaken identity is when you read last years' newspapers as today's, and don't notice the difference.Innocence is media's belief that what they have not told has not happened. Vassal di sej
Lakh sooli, lakh zehar piale, ishq de pallay aavan ho,
Jehrhe labbh de raah sukhalle, oh is raah kiyon jaavan ho !
Lakh chuaraasi gerh ton lamba, pal ishqe di peerha da,
Par nachade jo sees tali dhar, ohi huzoor nu paavan ho,
Torh rivaaj lakhaan roh–rassama, preet di reet nibhavan ho.
Preet di reet nibhavan khatir, jind a...jaabin paavan ho,
Biss piyaale nu kirpa jal keh, hus hus kanth langhaavan ho.
Nasha maut da pee pee nachde, Vaang fakiraan gaavan ho
Lakh khanjar, lakh barcche, tegaan, je kar aan draavan ho,
"Main Naachoongi" aakhe Meera, lakh lashkar aa jaavan ho.
Rog rajaiaan odhan chhad ghar mitter piyaare jaavan ho,
Yararhe de sathar te ohi vassal di sej sajaavan ho,

what wealth will love be left with when robbed its pain.
Sanchali Singh wrote on March 23: The lovers show the intensity of their abandonment to an overmastering will. "They see only themselves in the universe." That is the true moral of their fate. But, even under the direst calamity, they catch at the one joy which is left--the short meeting before the parting. And what a parting it is! Here again comes the triumph of the beautiful over the merely tragic. They are once more calm. There love again breathes of all the sweet sights and sounds in a world of beauty. They are parting, but the almost happy Juliet says:
It is not yet near day--
Believe me, love, it was the nightingale.
Romeo, who sees the danger of delay, is not deceived:

Yes, It is the lark, the herald of day ! It always is. And thank God for that, for what wealth will be love's sustenance when robbed of its pain. Read the post below! what coincidence ! -- although , to be honest, it was written many months ago.
March 23:
hit and run, and snipe and slink before the someone has time to recover and react . excellent warfare.
